Come to the Richmond Yacht Club for “Sail a Small Boat Day!”
This event is open to everyone -- sailors and non-sailors, young and old. Bring your wetsuit and PFD if you have them. Otherwise, bring warm, waterproof clothing. You should expect to get wet, so bring along a change of clothes and leave anything valuable at home. Free rides will be available on a first come, first served basis. If a skipper feels that you aren’t dressed properly for his or her boat, or don’t have the necessary sailing skills, he or she may suggest that you try a different boat.
Thinking about buying your own boat? Start small! Small boats are:
Inexpensive to store,
Cheaper to maintain,
Easy to take anywhere,
The best way to sharpen your sailing skills.
Some small boats are complicated and some are simple. Some boats never change and some change all the time. Some move at light speed and some move at a more leisurely pace. Some are tippy and some are stable. Find the boat and fleet that are right for you! Meet fleet representatives.
See and sail all sorts of small boats, including:
29er Aussie 18 Coronado 15 Int’l 14 Hoot Lido 14 Santana 22
Byte 49er CFJ El Toro Laser Optimist Snipe
Sunfish Thistle Wabbit Weta Int’l Canoe & More!
