The Geritol group at RYC has been around for over 20 years. It consists of the same members who make up the Sunshine Boys and the two groups overlap in most ways. The main difference is that the Geritol group's main purpose is to plan organize and run the monthly picnic on Angel Island. This is held on the second Friday of each month and a volunteer cook plans the meal and sails over to Angel earlier than the rest and gets the bbq going and has the lunch prepared for the rest of the group who arrive around noon.

If the weather is not good we stay at the club and have lunch in the downstairs regatta room. Transport to Angel Island is usually by a member's power boat but more than one boat may be needed if the numbers require that.

Sunshine Boys/ Geritol group is open to all male club members. No invitation is required just show up on a Wednesday by 10.30 or on the second Friday by 10.45 and join the group. On Wednesdays it's bring your own lunch and drinks and on the Friday it's usually around $10 for a really good lunch.
